“Wear a Wool& Dress for 100 Days Straight”

Here goes nothing - Anyone who knows me (but mostly my sister) can attest to my lack of general fashion knowledge and interest.  My general fashion parameters are: appropriateness, comfortable and on sale.  I share this as a way of letting you know this is in no way going to turn into anything other than a travel blog.

I had seen this ‘100 day challenge’ a couple times in the past, and always looked at it with interest but never considered really doing it.  Well, given my current COVID lifestyle and general lack of demands on my life (fashion or otherwise) it seemed like the right time to give it a try.  The whole notion interested me for a couple reasons.

The first reason is that I love the concept of a capsule wardrobe but again, didn’t think it was something I could pull off.  Every capsule wardrobe seems to belong to people that know how to accessorize and also own accessories.  The idea of wearing one dress for 100 days straight simplifies that even further, like, to a level even I might be able to handle.

The second, and here is where we get back to travel, is the concept would be great for travel!  While living in Japan we did a lot of traveling on a budget that meant carry on baggage only and usually on discount airlines where they weigh your carry on.  I was already a light packer, but this brought it to a whole new level.  The standard requirement was that your personal item plus your carry on bag could not weigh more than 7kg (or 15 lbs) together.  This was a challenge at the start, in fact I actually took my luggage scale to the store and weighed each suitcase.  I finally found a rolling suitcase for about 4 lbs, we had a winner.  After the first couple trips my sidekick and I could do a 2 week trip with all our required items including homeschool books for under 7kg each. - What could be more useful for packing light than a single item that can be worn every day.  This could bring my packing to a whole new level!

So here goes - My dress arrived yesterday and this is day one.  I’ll post daily updates in my story but other than that it’s all back to travel, (or dreaming about travel),  till we hit day 100.  And if you don’t hear from me in 100 days we’ll all just pretend this never happened.
